Introducing: Pocket

Pocket is a popular online service that allows people to read, search and save articles. You can find almost any kind of article you are looking for. It's free for everyone but you also have the option to buy premium version too. You can save articles and search for them. If you need to practice your reading skills or need an online source to find English articles you can use Pocket. Pocket used to known as ''Read it Later'' but got updated on Jan 2022. You can also adjust text sizes and fonts however you want. You can also use the app and listen music while reading.

This is the home screen, when you sign up you will be directed to home screen. You can browse the article you see or you can discover other articles that you are interested in. 



On the right side of the screen, you can see topics list. You can also research by writing the topic as well. 



You can save your articles and fin them at saves part. There are features which allows you to highlight and save parts from the article too. 



You can highlight sentences or words by using your mouse's right click and you can see them on the left side of your screen.





I personally liked the idea of Pocket. If it was used more maybe there could be variety of topics. I would use this online tool to search and save articles and practice reading as well. It could be used to test students reading skills by asking them to highlight the crucial parts about the article or ask them to prepare a reaction paper to certain articles.

Hello, I'm Baran from Giresun, Turkey. I was born in Giresun in 2002 and stayed there for 18 years. I finished elementary and middle school at Giresun Cumhuriyet Elementary (and later on Middle) School. I went to Giresun Atatürk Anadolu Lisesi. My journey to Istanbul started when I was accepted into the Yeditepe University English Language Teaching program. While studying, I developed a passion for literature and double majored in the English Language and Literature program as well. As for my hobbies, I like taking short walks on our campus, reading short stories and novels, watching philosophy videos and I enjoy watching detective movies. I also try to improve my French. I did not have many opportunities to practice in my educational area which is teaching. I am currently aiming to do my master's in Istanbul. Get to know me

Hello everyone!!! I'm Ayça. This is my first blog post on Blogger. I'm 22 years old and currently studying ELT at Yeditepe University. This is my fifth year at Yeditepe.  I hope I will be graduated by the end of this year. Last year I worked as an English teacher in a language course for 3 months and also worked as a Barista in a coffee shop for 3 months. Working while studying improved my experience of working and being responsible for my tasks and responsibilities. I am looking forward to experiencing more in my internship this year. In my high school years, I lived in Bursa and I moved to Istanbul to study at university. I am planning to remain in Istanbul in the future but I might consider new opportunities too. Currently, my priority is my school and internship. In addition to my priorities, I also want to apply to a French course and learn French. Rather than talking about my academic life and goals, I also like to draw, model clay, and watch movies as personal hobbies. S

I found a scene from ''The Office'' series on YouTube which has the option to show subtitles as well. Using scenes from movies or TV shows like ''The Office'' could be used with older learners like high school students or adults.  1- What is the reaction of the employees when the fire alarm goes off? 2-  Describe Michael Scott's approach to handling the fire drill. How does he take charge of the situation? 3-  Pay attention to the dialogue during the scene. Can you identify any lines or quotes that stand out to you as particularly humorous? 4-   How do the characters discuss and react to the events that transpired? 5-  How does the fire drill impact the relationships between the characters in the office?
