Introducing Quill: An Online Grammar Tool for EFL and ESL

Quill is an online teaching platform that teachers can use in their classrooms to assign learning tools to students on areas such as grammar, writing, reading for evidence, proofreading, and English lessons. Teachers can either create a classroom and send the activities and lessons via link or code. Alternatively, teacher can connect the Quill account with Google Classroom and share the assignments and lessons through Classroom. As you can see below, this is how the user interface of the website looks like.

After clicking assign, the teachers can have access to a variety of content to use in their classrooms.

Lastly, the teacher can review and assign the activities. The neat part about this interface is that there are different interfaces for students and the teacher. With this, when the teacher projects this tool to the screen, the students will not see the teacher instructions part and the teacher can still have access to overview mode.



You can use this tool both in classroom and outside of school for purposes such as giving homework, sharing activities on smartboard for learners as an activity, and as a supplying teaching material. This tool is good for assessing and strenghtening student knowledge after the actual lesson is over.

Hello, I'm Baran from Giresun, Turkey. I was born in Giresun in 2002 and stayed there for 18 years. I finished elementary and middle school at Giresun Cumhuriyet Elementary (and later on Middle) School. I went to Giresun Atatürk Anadolu Lisesi. Hello everyone!!! I'm Ayça. This is my first blog post on Blogger. I'm 22 years old and currently studying ELT at Yeditepe University. This is my fifth year at Yeditepe.  I hope I will be graduated by the end of this year. Last year I worked as an English teacher in a language course for 3 months and also worked as a Barista in a coffee shop for 3 months. Working while studying improved my experience of working and being responsible for my tasks and responsibilities. I am looking forward to experiencing more in my internship this year. In my high school years, I lived in Bursa and I moved to Istanbul to study at university. I am planning to remain in Istanbul in the future but I might consider new opportunities too. I found a scene from ''The Office'' series on YouTube which has the option to show subtitles as well. Using scenes from movies or TV shows like ''The Office'' could be used with older learners like high school students or adults.  1- What is the reaction of the employees when the fire alarm goes off? 2-  Describe Michael Scott's approach to handling the fire drill. How does he take charge of the situation? 3-  Pay attention to the dialogue during the scene. Can you identify any lines or quotes that stand out to you as particularly humorous? 4-   How do the characters discuss and react to the events that transpired? 5-  How does the fire drill impact the relationships between the characters in the office?
